Description of the Star System

When the Rosebourg Monarchy prepared plans to explore the Natashan Nation, the military requested and received authorization from the Rosebourg Crown to develop a launching base from which the necessary fleets could be launched, repaired and replenished. Because the Rosebourg Monarchy expected the Natashan Nation to be bigger than anything they expected, the Rosebourg (at the time) built a humongous (and what was considered then ridiculously large) site of production.

Since the Depression of 2360, however, most of the fleet yards stand idle and the operational capabilities stripped so that the Gohorn capability to build up their military now greatly exceeds that of the Monarchy. The twelve-planet star-system entitled Grace Minoris proved to be a superb choice however. The wisdom of this choice is becoming more apparent now: Grace Minoris stands far enough away that it isn't too close to the Gohorn or the L.M.C. frontier, and yet close enough that reinforcements launched from this site can reach the newly declared fronts within a few months.

Description of the Planet

A gas giant that cannot sustain life. Gerolden XII's orbit was considered slow enough that it would actually be very useful to place a whole fleet yard facility around it. The Potsdam Fleet Yards, the largest fleet yards in the known universe were established here.

Potsdam Fleet Yards

The Potsdam Fleet Yards complex is a huge complex capable of producing a large number of starships at any given moment. The Potsdam Fleet Yards has not been operating at its full capacity for years, although it continually pours out the latest generation of Rosebourg destroyers. The Potsdam Fleet Yards is an artifial ring that surrounds the whole of Gerolden XII (which itself is a massive planet). Around 175 starships can dock with Potsdam Fleet Yards at any given point, and there are no less than 6 starship construction stations capable of designing starships up to fightercraft carrier size.
